About Jojo Isorena (work in progress)
Jojo is a US trained and certified canine training and behavior specialist. In 2006 he attended the Triple Crown Academy for Professional Dog Trainers in Austin, Texas where he trained under top professionals and competitors in the field. Upon successfully completing the graduation requirements, Jojo received his certification. He returned to Manila to work professionally as a vet-referred behavior counselor and trainer, servicing clients mostly in the expat community.
BETTERDOG CANINE BEHAVIOR CENTER
In 2009, Jojo established BetterDog Canine Behavior Center, the first professional training facility in the Philippines that worked with owners in making better connections with their dogs by building relationships based on trust and understanding.
BETTERDOG GAMES 2011 and IRONDOG CHALLENGE 2015
He was a founding board member and former president of the Philippine Dog Athletics Association (PDAA), the national organization of dog training schools and clubs that formalised regional and national USDAA dog agility competitions for all dogs regardless of breed. He mounted the BetterDog Games in 2011 introduced to the country highly competitive canine sports, including Skyhoundz Disc Dog, Dock Diving, Canine Nosework, and Rally Obedience.
THE BETTERDOG CANINE TRAINING SYSTEM
During the pandemic, he consolidated everything he had learned in his years of practice into the BetterDog Canine Training System, a comprehensive and effective training program that covers the science of training dogs from puppies to adults dogs.
Post pandemic, Jojo has closed down the BetterDog center and continues his private practice as a dog behavior counselor and training consultant, working with owners and dogs experiencing challenges in their relationships. He currently holds an associate teaching position in The Pfleider School in Makati.

I believe in working with a dog’s natural drives instead of against them. His drive for food. His drive for play. And his drive for attention or petting.
When a dog learns to work for any of these, you get a dog that is an active and enthusiastic participant in the learning process. Learning is much easier and fun!
